Jason Okuhama, President
Jason Okuhama brings to the Board an extensive background in financial management and lending. He built his skills in these areas during the many years he spent working at Bank of America and First Hawaiian Bank. Jason currently is the Executive Vice President and Partner of Hawaii Lending Specialists, which specialize in government guaranteed (USDA and SBA) and commercial lending. Jason has always been willing to share his expertise with community-based economic development organizations. He has done so as a Business Loan Officer with the State Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism, as a member of The Hawaii Community Loan Fund loan review committee, and as a Board Member of several non-profit and community organizations throughout his career.
Akoni Akana, Vice-President
As a founding member and former Board President of the Friends of Moku'ula, Akoni Akana has worked towards the restoration of the Kalua o Kiha royal complex which includes Moku'ula island and the ponds of Mokuhinia (a natural wetland) since 1990.
A renowned and sought after Hawaiian cultural expert, kumu hula for the award winning Halau Hula o Ka'onohiokala, and former cultural director of Ka'anapali Beach Hotel's acclaimed Po'okela Program.
Mr. Akana currently serves as the Native Hawaiian Cultural Advisor for Sacred Sites International, a Board member for the Hawaii Alliance Community Based Economic Development (HACBED) and is the Executive Director for the Friends of Moku'ula.
A graduate of Kamehameha Schools, Mr. Akana is a published writer, composer and music producer, garnering a nomination to Hawaii's distinguished Na Hoku Hanohano Awards. He continues to share his knowledge of Hawaiian culture and language through teaching.
A former member of the State Burial Council, a group charged with the responsibility of regulating adverse impact and protecting burial sites in Hawaii, Mr. Akana continues to work with numerous organizations in both the private and public sector to advocate for native Hawaiian rights and to underscore the need for preservation of historical sites and traditions.

Kipukai Kuali'i, Treasurer
KipuKai Kuali`i is a grassroots community organizer, advocate and leader with a passion for the empowerment of the working class poor and the self-determination of Native Hawaiians. Kuali`i gained extensive organizing experience volunteering for labor and political campaigns in Southern California and Washington, DC. He also worked for Pride At Work, AFL-CIO and the United Public Workers, AFSCME Local 646.
Kuali'i currently serves as the Project Coordinator of AKAMAI Mahi`ai, a community economic development project in the Anahola Hawaiian Homestead on Kaua`i creating a community certified kitchen, an outdoor market, an incubator farm and training programs. In that role, he’s also working to build the capacity of community leaders and bring more resources to Anahola.
In addition to serving on the Hawai`i Alliance for Community-Based Economic Development (HACBED) board, Kuali'i also serves on the statewide boards of Hui Kako`o `Aina Ho`opulapula (advocacy org. for native Hawaiians on the land-lease-award waitlist of the State of Hawai`i’s Dept. of Hawaiian Homelands [DHHL]) and the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement’s (CNHA) Policy Steering Committee.
Stacy Crivello, Board Member
When Ke Aupuni Lokahi, the governance board for Moloka`i’s Federal Enterprise Community designation, formed in 1999 they needed a strong president with deep ties to the Moloka`i community and island. Given her years of involvement in community development organizations and issues on Moloka`i, Stacy Crivello was the perfect individual for this position. As president of Ke Aupuni Lokahi, Stacy provided leadership, guidance, and expertise to the community-led process of investing millions of federal dollars into the Moloka`i community. She has been a HACBED Board Member for the past two years.
Puni Kekauoha, Board Member
Born and raised in Papakolea, Oahu, Puni Kekauoha has been a visionary leader in her community since the early 1990’s. Puni a Roosevelt graduate is a single mother of one devoted to service in the Hawaiian Homestead of Papakolea and the community at large. She is currently the Executive Director of the Papakolea Community Development Corporation (PCDC), which manages the Papakolea Community Center and Park. PCDC was formed in 1999 to provide the residents of the Papakolea, Kalawahine and Kewalo Hawaiian Homesteads with a full range of comprehensive services, including life-long educational experiences, health and wellness services, human services and entrepreneurial opportunities.
Puni served as president of the Papakolea Community Association from 1997 - 2007 and was successful in rallying friends and families to assist in community development activities. She was instrumental in the formation of both PCDC and Papakolea’s first nonprofit organization, Kula no na Poe Hawai‘i, to address the educational needs of the area’s children. In addition, under her leadership Papakolea is proud to be one of the host communities for Halau Ku Mana Charter School.
Puni is quite comfortable in forming partnerships with outside agencies and works to develop new leaders within her community. Always proud to call Papakolea home, she works to restore the sense of community from days of old and to improve the lives of family and friends there. Her leadership skills also led her to receive the Hawai‘i Community Foundation’s 2003 Ho‘okele Award, which recognizes outstanding leaders in the nonprofit sector. She is also founder of Ke Alaula, a statewide community-based organization devoted to the advocacy of Native Hawaiian Health and Wellness concerns. She serves as a board member of the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement, Hawai`i Alliance for Community Based Economic Development (HACBED), Empower Oahu, the Sovereign Council of Hawaiian Home Lands Assembly, and Kula no na Po'e Hawai`i,
Adrienne Dillard, Board Member
Executive Director - Kula no na Po`e Hawai`i
Adrienne Dillard, a 24 year resident of Hawai`i, has served the Hawaiian homestead communities of Papakolea, Kewalo and Kalawahine as the Executive Director of Kula no na Po’e Hawaii (KNNPH), for the past 15 years. Adrienne’s priority is promoting education and health for the residents. Currently she oversees the Papakolea afterschool program. Adrienne is a Weinberg Fellow and received the Harry and Jeannette Weinberg Foundation’s honor for outstanding Achievement in Nonprofit Management through their AIM for Excellence Award Program in October 2004 for the work accomplished with the Ho`ola Pono O Papakolea health initiatives. Adrienne serves as a board member of Empower Oahu and the Hawaii Alliance for Community Based Economic Development. Adrienne is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work at Hawaii Pacific University.

Rian Dubach, Board Member
Rian Dubach serves as the Community Development / CRA Manager for American Savings Bank, where he oversees the Bank’s community and government relations activities and regulatory compliance of the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).
He is responsible for the administration of the Bank’s community development loans and CRA investments as well as corporate oversight of the Bank’s charitable giving program. This responsibility includes the development and implementation of innovative lending and investment programs for affordable housing, economic development, and small businesses.
Originally from Maui, Mr. DuBach received a BA and an MBA from the University of Hawaii. He is also the Treasurer of Ka’ala Farm, Inc.
